Getting Started · Common question

How long does setup actually take?

Short answer

First value in under 20 minutes — sign up, pick your frameworks, and the platform generates your policy set, risk register scaffold, and initial posture score. A full baseline (vendor list, evidence uploads, initial gap analysis) is 1–2 hours of your time spread over the first week. No implementation project.

Scarlet Risk is designed to be self-serve. There is no implementation call, no professional services engagement, no 6-week onboarding. Here's the realistic timeline:

Minute 0–5: Sign up, verify email, pick your industry and frameworks in scope. The platform generates a starting policy set and risk register scaffold on the spot.

Minute 5–20: Review the generated policies (they're editable, not fill-in-the-blank templates), set your organization details, and get your first posture score. You can screen-share this on a sales call the same day.

Hour 1–2 (spread over the first week): Upload your vendor list, run the initial gap analysis, and connect the systems you actually use (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AWS, GitHub). Each connection is under 2 minutes.

Week 1–2: Evidence starts flowing automatically. If you're heading into an audit, this is when you'd invite your auditor and share the workspace.

There is no 'go-live date' and no consultants scheduling meetings with you. If something takes longer than the times above, it's almost always because information about your business (vendor list, org chart) isn't handy — not because the platform is slow.
